Sci-fi Sample Writing 2

Everything changed the day the aliens showed up, most of us were skeptical of why they were here but they made their intentions clear from the very beginning; they were here to help us to rebuild the world and save us from complete destruction and extinction. The government did what they always do and tried to destroy the aliens, however, the aliens saw this coming and were able to stop them before anyone got hurt and all was forgiven. We watched as aliens landed in every country known to man and the ones that were not known, they gave the same speech every time that they were here to help and that we needed to listen to them about everything. Most countries fell in line and listened but there were a few that were weary of the invaders and tried to fight back; when reason could not be seen those countries were cut off from the rest of the world. They were not harmed, just encased in a bubble, and the ones who wished to leave were taken out and relocated to a nearby country; the ones who chose to stay were given a monthly food, water, and materials supply so that they could survive.

The first few months were the roughest because we didn’t know where to start and everyone was still getting used to these strangers who claimed to want to help us; we would later find out that we were part of an ecosystem that was much larger than we thought. Our survival was crucial for the other planets in our solar system to survive as well; so we had to work hard for this to work or we would cause our entire solar system to slowly shut down. Each country was given the materials to produce everything that would be needed for our survival; such things as guns and weapons were kept around but the aliens made it so that they still work but could not kill. Food, organic, and inorganic material replicators were provided so that we didn’t have to use up any more of the earth's resources; new towns

were created to house the homeless. For a while, we were happy and thriving with the help of our would-be saviors who told us that we would not have to worry anymore because we were now under their protection.

This newfound peace only lasted for so long before other countries were trying to take over control and use replicators to make new weapons to start a war with; the aliens were starting to get fed up with us and threatened to leave and never return which only caused more fighting. The world was divided into two different factions, those who were with the aliens and their plan and those who didn’t think the aliens were telling the truth and wanted them gone. With no real way to kill or hurt anyone, both sides grew tired and the aliens felt that they needed to leave; they started by removing the bubble closing off the reluctant countries, and then taking away the replicators. This causes worldwide panic for the counties that had no way of replacing the lost food and materials; once there were no more

replicators they then returned our ability to get hurt and die. We were on the brink of destruction and the only beings that were willing to help us were about to leave us to fend for ourselves; we had to come up with a way to get these beings to stay or risk dying out for good and taking the solar system with us.

This is where this story begins with us trying to figure out how to appease our saviors and get them back on our side in order to save not only our planet but all the planets in our ecosystem; although there are those who still don’t trust these beings we need them for our survival.
